11:00 CASE STUDY: Examine Infection Prevention Regulations & Their Effect on Design

Infection Prevention continues to be a vital factor in the design and implementation of capital construction projects within hospital facilities. Mounting pressures from the Affordable Care Act performance reimbursement penalties, increased exposure to litigation and emphasis from the Joint Commission on infection control protocol is reason enough to re-examine current processes to ensure that necessary measures are being taken to protect patients, visitors and staff from exposure to hospital facility borne pathogens.

In this session, we will examine:

  • The science of pathogens and how they are transmitted in the built environment
  • The economic impact of hospital acquired infections
  • Regulatory pressures, including ACA, Joint Commission and FGI Guidelines
  • Industry practices used for Pre-Construction Risk Assessment and Infection Control Risk Assessment

Check out the incredible speaker line-up to see who will be joining John.
